Chronic wounds impose a big burden on the healthcare system, accounting for 2-4% of the total healthcare expenditure globally and resulting in one amputation every 30s. Chronic wounds don’t heal properly due to biofilm-producing bacteria residing deep within the wound. Biofilm impairs the effect of the immune response and protects the bacteria from antibiotics. No current solution effectively treats the biofilm with amputation being the last resort.
Our technology is non-invasive and does not rely on antibiotics. We rely on our patent-pending high-precision laser technology to kill the bacteria throughout the entire wound. This is done by delivering short-duration tightly focused bursts of laser-energy in an evenly spaced 3D grid-like structure throughout the entire wound killing the bacteria while leaving the human tissue undamaged.
