About
The first color blind glasses were invented by the mathematician and optical physicist James Clerk Maxwell in 1855. Maxwell theorized that by viewing the world through two lenses of opposing tints, due to the phenomenon of binocular rivalry a person with color blindness would gain an added sensory dimension of color. The patent-pending VIOSENSE Polarized lens technology brings Maxwell's idea into the modern era of digital screens. By using a wavelength-selective polarization filter, the lenses deliver a differential color signal to each eye causing a depth-based visual cue to appear over confusing colors when viewing a compatible polarized display.
