UTIgel is a catheter gel that reduces the risk of urinary tract infection - one of the most common hospital acquired infections. Urinary tract infection (UTI) is a major cause of morbidity with about 4 million cases per annum in the US alone. A large number, about 560 000 cases, are catheter-associated UTI (CAUTI) causing 13 000 deaths. We produce a topical gel, free from antibiotics and heavy metals, that prevents E.coli from causing urinary tract infection.
