Seguros Medical Products is a medical device company founded by Tony Braham & Chris Anderson. Seguros Medical Products beachhead medical device, RAIVES, is a utility patented clip invented by Tony Braham. Tony Braham created the durable medical good after being inspired by a recurring problem that he experienced while working as a Patient Care Technician at UC Davis Medical Center (UCDMC). The issue that Tony experienced was unorganized medical equipment hindering patient safety, staff safety, and staff productivity. The problem became clear after an incident at UCDMC where Tony was assisting a patient in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and tripped over an unorganized monitoring cable that was attached to his patient. As a result, Tony fell and the cable dislodged from the patient. Tony then began noticing that other hospital staff, primarily nurses in the ICU, were experiencing this problem and were trying to solve it by jury-rigging organizational mechanisms that were made out of tourniquets, popsicle sticks, and tape. He knew that if this was a problem at UC Davis Medical Center, a regional leader in healthcare, then this was also a problem at other hospitals across the nation. So Tony began designing the solution. His durable good, RAIVES, provides medical staff (Nurses, Respiratory Therapists, and hospital assistants) with a clip which enhances their productivity, their safety, and the safety of their patients by standardizing how cords, cables, and tubes are organized in medical facilities such as the ICU and ground ambulances.
