“Reducing the disease burden in Africa” with this mission Pan African Health Foundation (PAHF) is the state-of-the-art AD Syringe manufacturing facility in the Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria which was built with support from and in collaboration with the Rivers State Government and the Federal Ministry of Health. The Plant was completed in Dec. 2008, accredited by the Pharmacist Council of Nigeria in Feb. 2009, obtained NAFDAC registration in June 2009 and has been in commercial production since then.. Following this, PAHF’s factory obtained the ISO 13485:2003 and CE certification in November 2010 and September 2012 respectively.
Now Integrated Medical Industries, IMI is an expansion of, and integrates the plants and operations of the existing Pan African Health Foundation (PAHF) AD Syringe Plant. The strategic goal being to significantly increase PAHF’s output to a more appropriate economic size and diversify PAHF’s product menu to include Intravenous (IV) Solutions, Injectables, Ear Nose and Eye Drops (ENE), intravenous-giving sets (IVGS), and medical supplies, as benchmarked against leading international competitors.
Of important note is that the PAHF Plant, which is an integral part of IMI’s existing operations, became on March 23, 2012, the first company in Nigeria, the second company in Africa, and the 16th company in the world to achieve the status of a World Health Organization (WHO) pre-qualified manufacturer of AD syringes for immunization and curative purposes with Reuse Prevention (RUP) feature. As such, PAHF’s syringes meet and comply with the most stringent of national and international performance, quality and safety standards and certifications, including WHO-GMP, WHO-PQS, European CE mark (ISO 13485), ISO 7886-3 and, ISO 7886-4. The PAHF Plant (albeit only one-fifth the size of the new IMI Plant) is also currently Africa’s largest manufacturer of AD Syringes.
