MITOS Medical Technologies A.S. is an innovative medical imaging company that is established in 2010, to commercialize microwave imaging technology for medical diagnosis. As a R&D oriented SME, MITOS Medical Tech. is active all aspects of medical device manufacturing including large scale clinical trials. Along it is core business objectives; MITOS has successfully developed two patent-pending technologies: MMT and EMaliz. The MMT is a novel microwave tomography system for diagnosing breast cancer without age restrictions. After securing permissions from Turkish Ministry of Health, clinical trials of MMT have been started at Dept. of Breast Surgery at Cerrahpasa Faculty of Medicine. MITOS Medical’s second product EMaliz is tissue characterization device that assists surgeons to rapidly determine the surgical margins of malignancies during operation. EMaliz has successfully completed animal trials phase. In parallel to its close cooperation with Dept. of Electronics and Communication Engineering of Istanbul Technical University, MITOS Medical Tech signed cooperation protocols with leading university hospitals at Istanbul such as Cerrahpasa Faculty of Medicine of Istanbul University and Marmara Neurological Sciences Institute of Marmara University.
