Mentech Innovation BV is a hightech startup company that designs, patents, and markets biofeedback-based technology platforms, emotion detection and recognition software and devices for the mental healthcare and gaming markets, with a first market entry in care houses for mentally disabled and dementing people.

A better understanding of the emotions of vulnerable people that cannot express their emotions (like dementing elderly, babies, mentally disabled people, trauma patients) will lead to better care, and to increased quality of life and happiness.

The feasibility of emotion sensing is currently explored with the participation of mental healthcare professionals from Severinus (see the ROSA project ) to objectively capture emotions from people with a mental disability. In addition, Severinus and Mentech Innovation initiated the Living lab ROSA, in which a number of care organizations, knowledge organizations and client organizations participate to validate emotion sensing in care houses.

The EmoKit® V1.0 is the first product of Mentech Innovation, which is marketed as an evaluation and demonstration kit, based on the technology platform EmoRadar®. A pilot study is in place in which care organizations are invited to actively participate, to validate the EmoKit® V1.0, to demonstrate the capability for real use cases, and to share practices and knowledge among the participating members of the community.
