About
MedTech Catapult is a national initiative in Singapore, hosted by the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR). Launched in 2024 with a S$38 million investment, it focuses on accelerating the design, development, and commercialization of high-value medical technology products, particularly life science instruments and regulated medical devices. The initiative supports MedTech innovators and product owners in bringing their innovations to market, emphasizing FDA Class I/II devices and optoelectronic biosensing modules. The platform offers a wide range of services, including access to seed capital, expert resources, and partnerships with local contract manufacturers and regulatory bodies. It assists in product engineering, regulatory approval, quality assurance, and scalable manufacturing. MedTech Catapult also enhances the capabilities of local contract manufacturing organizations, contributing to Singapore's status as a leading MedTech manufacturing hub. The initiative fosters collaboration among MedTech innovators and local manufacturers, facilitating co-innovation and scaling opportunities.
