Fit2Walk is dedicated to diabetic foot health.

The Fit2Walk kit is a new product geared towards patients with diabetes, so that they can understand and take charge of their foot health. The primary components of the kit are four 10-gram monofilaments. Originally developed by the Bureau of Primary Health Care, the monofilament is the most effective medical device to screen for loss of protective sensation (LOPS), a risk factor that makes patients seven times more likely to develop an ulceration (Diabetes Care 1995). By performing regular monofilament exams themselves, patients are able to understand their health status and intervene appropriately with a healthcare professional when they do lose protective sensation in their feet.

Beyond monofilaments, the kit includes several additional resources for patients: instructions for self-testing, quarterly reminders for testing, a foot mirror to assist with self-testing, tips for proper foot care, and a test results tracker to record results and share with healthcare providers as needed. A portion of all Fit2Walk proceeds are also used to produce monofilaments that are donated to causes both domestic and overseas, including The Health Wagon, the IDF and more.
