The Institution was founded in 1898, and is currently made up of around three thousand five hundred medical professionals. The basic objectives of this Professional Association are aimed at: - Registering the qualifications that accredit being a doctor and being a specialist doctor. - Urge and monitor compliance with the Code of Ethics and the Statutes of the Association. - Represent the medical profession before the Society and the Administrations. - Establish synergies with Scientific Societies and the University. - Encourage acceptable agreements with all health sectors. - Get involved with respect to common goals with the College Council and the OMC. - Promote access for all members to Continuing Medical Education. - Recognize the permanent training effort of the association and accredit it. - Set minimum minimums essential for the professional practice of medicine. - Defend the professionals who practice according to the criteria of good medical practice. Offer useful and quality services to registered doctors. - Establish the annual objectives and budget by agreement of the Assembly of Compromisers. - Information transparency and external audit of each annual management.
