The Clúster Dispositivos Médicos y Farmacéuticos República Dominicana (CDMF) is a sectoral cluster established in 2016 by the Asociación Dominicana de Zonas Francas (ADOZONA). It brings together multinational companies involved in the manufacturing of medical devices and pharmaceutical products within the Dominican Republic's free zones, along with local suppliers and academic institutions. The CDMF aims to enhance the sustainability and competitiveness of the medical devices and pharmaceutical sector through coordinated actions, specialized education, and the expansion of local supply chains. Member companies produce a wide range of products, including medical-surgical instruments and pharmaceutical products. Key items manufactured include disposable ostomy bags, respiratory assistance components, dialysis equipment, and orthopedic devices. The cluster is recognized as a leading exporter in the Dominican Republic, contributing significantly to the country's exports and serving major markets, particularly in the United States. With a focus on maintaining international quality standards, the CDMF supports local suppliers through technical programs, fostering growth and investment in the sector.
